We have always had a lifetime warranty on our clubs under normal playing conditions. Recently we have had some abuse of this policy and should spell out in full detail our warranty.
1) Any shaft broken 3 inches or above the hosel will be deemed an abused club, such as breaks in the middle or top of the shaft. We have seen 100,000's of shafts and clubs tested and it is an extreme rarity that one breaks under normal playing conditions at the middle or top of the club.
2) Any club that has had repairs not made by us voids the warranty.
3) Any club hit from a driving range mat voids the warranty.
4) Any club head that detaches from the shaft must be sent back in order to be repaired. Clubs with just the shaft and no head will not be accepted.
5) Club heads or shafts that break under normal playing conditions will be repaired Free of charge.
6) Any dents on the top, bottom, or sides of the clubs are considered abused.
We appreciate your support and hope that this warranty is spelled out a little better for all of those involved.
RETURN PROCEDURE BELOW
This is the process that we follow for all repair situations:
1. We have you call in to us at our toll free number 1-888-305-4956.
2. Over the phone, one of our representatives gives you a Return Authorization number (referred to as RA #) and writes up a work order for your repair.
3. The RA # serves as a ticket to have your package accepted by us when it is delivered so make sure you write it rather largely and clearly on the out side of your package. Also, the RA # serves only as a ticket for delivery to go into our inspection department. It does not mean that you are getting a complimentary repair, only an inspection. Up until this point, the
customer DOES have to pay for shipping back to us.
4. The owner and the head club builder (2 people who have been in this business for most of their lives) inspect the club breakage separately then make a final decision together on whether or not the breakage was caused by miss-hitting the club (both intentionally or unintentionally), abuse to the club, faulty manufacturing or faulty merchandise.
5. At this point in time, the repair could go one of two ways.
Situation A - The club could be issued as being faulty merchandise or manufacturing which we fully cover and take responsibility for. In this case, the customer is credited back for the shipping to us for the repair. Also, the repair is performed in about 3 to 5 working days, then shipped at OUR expense back to the customer.
Situation B - The club is considered miss-hit causing the breakage or it has been abused right out. If this decision is made, the customer is contacted within 24 hours of the decision by the inspection team. At that time, the customer has two choices, either he/she can pay for the club to be repaired at a minimal cost plus shipping, or just pay for shipping to have the broken merchandise shipped back. Order cancellations or charge backs for the merchandise is NOT an option as the our return policy clearly states that we do not accept USED merchandise back for any reason. The customer's acceptance of the RA number to begin with, enters them into the understanding that if we decide the breakage is the customer's fault, then they have to pay to get the club shipped back or accept charges for the repair. All repairs will be made within 5 to 7 working days (same as building time for new orders) and the customer will be notified via email from UPS when the package ships.
NOTE: Here are some of the signs used to determine whether or not the breakage is caused by the customer:
For example graphite shafts on clubs will break if subjected to a number of miss-hits or just several really bad miss-hits. No equipment whether customized or pro line can withstand repetitious miss-hits. We look for excessive or deep scratches on the sole plate of the club head. Also, ball marks on the top, sole, heel or hosel of the club is seriously miss-hit. Another common miss-hit is hitting too low and catching the ground so that dirt and grass marks are all over the sole plate and or face of the club. This should not happen.
As for steel shafts, they will bend if you miss-hit them as badly as what would break a graphite shaft.
And for intentional breakage, which pretty much speaks for itself, that would mean throwing, snapping the shaft, slamming it on the ground, etc.
Also, accidental breakage (i.e. slamming the club in your trunk) or exposing the clubs to extreme heat (i.e. storing the clubs in your car).
Thank you for your time and understanding in this matter. If we can be of any further assistance to you, please do not hesitate to email (Sales@CustomGolfSales.com) or call (1-888-305-4956) us.
